White Cake

Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening or butter
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 egg whites
- 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
Instructions:
Grease and flour pan(s). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In separate bowl, beat butter. Add sugar and vanilla to butter mix and beat. Add whites one at a time. Add flour mix and buttermilk alternately. Pour into pan(s). Bake at 350º F for 30-35 minutes.
Yield: 12 servings
