Chocolate-Chip Scones
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, in pieces
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350º F. Grease the baking sheets. Whisk together the dry ingredients, then cut in the butter. Add the chocolate chips and stir. Finally, add the milk and stir until just moistened. Knead 4 to 5 times on a floured work surface, then form into 12 ovals 1 inch thick each. Bake 1 inch apart in the center of the oven for 20 minutes.
Yield: 12 scones
